George Ogilvie is a collision consultant who provides analysis, reconstruction services, and reconstruction training. He has a background in Law Enforcement. He was the lead Instructor for the Oregon State Police Recruit School in collision Investigation at the time of his retirement in 1997. He was the lead Reconstructionist for the Yamhill County Multi-Agency Traffic Team and for District One of the Oregon State Police in 1997.
Over 900 hours of specialized training have been received from Northwestern University's Traffic Institute, University of North Florida's Institute of Police Technology and Management, Texas A & M, Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance, U. S. Department of Transportation, Oregon State Police, Forensic Accident Reconstructionists of Oregon, California Association of Accident Reconstruction Specialists, Safety Solutions, Inc., and Reconstruction Technology. That training has covered such topics as Basic and Advanced Accident Investigation, Reconstruction, speed Estimates from Skid Marks, Crush Analysis, Photography, Photogrammetry, Biomechanics of Injury Causation, Blood Splatter Evidence, Bus and Truck Collision Investigation and Analysis, Railroad Grade Collision Investigation, Reconstruction Technology Software, and many other subjects.
Hundreds of collisions have been investigated since beginning his career with the Oregon State Police in 1972. Over 100 collisions have been critically reviewed, assisted with, or reconstructed. George Ogilvie was one of four co-authors of the Oregon State Police "Reconstruction Report Writing Manual." He was the first authorized REC-TEC software Instructor besides George Bonnett, JD, the owner and developer of REC-TEC (Reconstruction Technology).
